How to Repair Rimless Glasses Frame?

Even though rimless glasses really look smart and classy, maintaining them can be a difficult task. They are one of the popular choices of glasses in the market due to two reasons. Firstly, they are very light weighted hence very comfortable to wear and secondly, they look very stylish. But one of the issues that you would face, in case you own a rimless glass frame, is its low durability.  So, in case you wish to repair your rimless glasses, read this article to know more.

Check out some simple steps which would help you in Repairing Rimless Glasses for yourself.
  • The first thing that you would need to look up is where the glass has been broken and where the actual repair is needed. In most cases, the repairs mainly consist of lost or loose screws. Other common repairs include broken pads of the nose, bent or broken ear pads, and sometimes popped-out lenses. You need to inspect closely and then identify correctly, what the actual problem is.
  • If the problem is any of the above then you would not need to worry. For loose or lost screws, you can repair them with the help of screwdrivers or spare screws from your stock. You would need to tighten them till the time they get hard to be tightened any further. Also, be sure that you are not over-tightening your new rimless frame screws that would tend to make a crack at the point where the hinge meets the lens.
  • In case it is a problem related to the nose pad, then you can fix them very easily. Find a replacement nose pad for the one that you currently have and then line up the same in the bracket. After you have replaced it, tighten the same with a screwdriver but be sure that you have not overtightened it, or else it might lead to a crack in the glass.
  • Among all of these problems, fixing a popped-out lens is the most challenging one. The first thing that you need in order to fix a popped-out glass is an eyeglass cord. The cord goes all the way around the lenses so that they can hold the same in their own place. The cord would fit into the small groove that is present around the perimeter of the lenses. Then you would need to hold the frame steadily on the nose bridge and then you would have to place the lens into the top of the cord so that it gets fitted in the grooves.
  • Once this is done, you can insert the glass cord within the outer side of the lens along with the cord. You would then need to guide the cord in the groove around the lens so that you can reach the point under the nose bridge. Applying a little pressure would ensure that the cord is fitted in the grooves, this, in turn, would help to get rid of the popped-out lenses.
Besides, Eyeglass Repair USA can repair almost any break or damage to the frames of eyeglasses.
